AsiaRooms.com reports motor racing enthusiasts using accommodation in Thailand next month may be interested in the forthcoming 24 Hours of Thailand go-karting event.

This high-speed extravaganza takes place at Pattaya's Bali Hai Pier karting track and is open to all amateur and semi-professional drivers, providing the participants have enough experience to satisfy health and safety concerns.

Scheduled to run from March 4th to 7th, the event is open to a maximum of 30 teams and places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

The official event website describes the 24 Hour as "an opportunity for all kart aficionados to meet and challenge one another in a sportive, friendly atmosphere".

Drivers from all over Thailand and further afield are expected to head to accommodation in Pattaya for the weekend, with team trophies and individual prizes up for grabs on the course.

Teams, which can consist of between four and eight drivers, must pay 225,000 baht (£4,000) to register for the event.

"Take this opportunity to challenge teams from all over the world for an unforgettable racing experience," the organisers state.

For those who would prefer to watch the action, the event is sure to provide plenty of thrills for the spectators.

A prize pool of 1.5 million baht will be at stake, which should make the competition on the track even more intense.
