AsiaRooms.com can reveal that the second Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta could be on the agenda for people using Langkawi hotels next month.

Taking place from March 18th to 21st, the festival will feature 23 balloons from 12 countries, including returning participants Belgium, the USA, France, Japan and Malaysia.

New balloons from nations such as Sweden, Germany and Thailand will also be on show.

People attending the event can watch as the colourful balloons take to the skies above Putrajaya.

The event takes place under the theme "one world, one Malaysia, one fiesta", which aims to promote a message of unity and mutual understanding.

As well as the balloons, the busy festival programme features a number of events to keep visitors entertained, including displays of remote control flying aircraft and paper aeroplane contests.

Five specially-shaped hot air balloons will be on show, as well as 13 balloons for free flying and five operating public tethered rides.

Saturday March 20th, the penultimate day of the fiesta, will close with a special night event and fireworks display.

Last year's event attracted over 100,000 visitors over four days, with the organisers expecting an even better turnout this time around.

Putrajaya is located 25 kilometres south of the capital city Kuala Lumpur and serves as Malaysia's administrative centre.
