AsiaRooms.com can reveal that the 2010 Energizer Night Race could be on the agenda for people using hotels in Kuala Lumpur next month.

Taking place in Cyberjaya on Saturday March 27th, the event is set to feature thousands of runners experiencing a unique twist on the traditional marathon format.

As the race takes place at night, each participant is given their own personal headlight, which are supplied by the battery firm Energizer and used to illuminate the personal running spaces of the athletes.

This feature distinguishes the race from similar events taking place in Malaysia, such as the Putrajaya Night Marathon in February.

"The headlights made by Energizer will be distributed to all runners and this will add to the excitement of running with the crowd at night," explained Energizer brand manager Joshua Leong.

He said that approximately 5,000 people are expected to take part in the Night Race, which offers various distances for runners of different abilities.

Participants can choose to enter the marathon (42.2 km), the half-marathon or the sprint distance of 10 km. There will also be a relay event for teams of four runners.

Mr Leong has said that live music and entertainment will be taking place at the finish line.

He explained that this will "liven up the atmosphere of the event, as we expect the last runner to arrive at the finish line by midnight".

Entries for the Night Race are priced at 60 ringgits (£11.40), or 240 ringgits per relay team.
