Mumbai: United Educare Foundation (UEF), dedicated to the cause of education in India, today announced their tie-up with Educare Cooperative, Singapore, a part of the Singapore Teachers Union (STU); at a Press Conference today. On the occasion, UEF also took the opportunity to introduce Dr. Spencer Kagan, internationally acclaimed, Trainer, Researcher and authority on the subjects of Learning Structures for children and teachers alike. UEF dedicated to the cause of bringing international education practices to India, intends to work closely with schools to provide high quality training to teachers and education professionals.
Borrowing from the Singapore education system, which is highly regarded as one of the best in the world, UEF is implementing Co-Operative Learning in schools here. To this end, UEF has invited Dr. Spencer Kagan to conduct workshops for teachers on Co-operative Learning. Also present was Mr. Mike Thiruman, President, Singapore Teachers Union, to share his plans for India.
The workshop series, aimed at championing the development of teachers, is a Not-for-Profit initiative on the part of UEF and is a part of its commitment to bringing the latest in education methodologies to India. Dr. Spencer Kagan, a world-renowned expert on cooperative learning, multiple intelligences, classroom discipline, and classroom energizers, has been conducting workshops and training sessions on these subjects across the globe. The first of his workshops in India is scheduled for September 14 –15 at Hotel Ramada Inn Palm Grove, Juhu.
Dr. Kagan’s Cooperative Learning Structures are dramatically improving classroom instruction & teaching process internationally. Why? Because Kagan Structures enhance engagement and accountability for every student. As a hands-on workshop the participants experience simple instructional strategies to engage and develop most fundamental thinking skills. The great thing is that each of these skills can be developed with no time away from academic curriculum. Participants learn how to improve academic engagement, retention and achievement but more importantly, how to prepare every student with thinking skills they will use for a lifetime.

According to Vinay Agarwal, CEO UEF “In our bid to transform the Primary Education landscape in India we are collaborating with Educare Cooperative, Singapore, for a unique cooperation on establishing a new standard in Indian education.
