LateRooms.com can reveal that people who have booked hotels in Prague in order to explore some of the historic sights that the city has to offer will not be disappointed if they time their visit to coincide with the beginning of the so-called "tourist season".

From April 1st, many of the castles and palaces in the capital will reopen their doors to the public after their annual winter closures.

The dust sheets will come off and everything will be made ready for visitors to explore the historical buildings and their ornate contents.

Among the buildings to be on show to the public is the Lobkowicz Palace , which is located by the eastern gate of Prague Castle .

Prague.net recommended that anyone who visits the palace should take in the banqueting hall, which promises "mythological frescoes from the 17th century".

Entry costs 20 Czech koruny (70p) and offers a host of stunning baroque decorations throughout its rooms.

Anyone with children may be able to keep them happy too because the toy museum is situated opposite the palace.

Featuring a history of playthings, which date back to ancient Greece , right through to some more familiar novelties, it should keep adults and kids entertained.
