AsiaRooms.com can reveal that people using hotels in Melbourne will be able to enjoy the city's annual celebration of Thai culture and cuisine later this month.

Now in its seventh year, the Thai Culture and Food Festival is due to take place in Federation Square on Sunday March 21st.

Offering a mixture of delicious Thai dishes, live entertainment and traditional handicrafts, the event aims to create the atmosphere of the south-east Asian country in Melbourne's cultural precinct.

Food lovers should find plenty to enjoy, as stalls set up along the river terrace will provide famous Thai exports such as green curry, fish cakes and pad thai at AU$8 (£4.90) per dish.

In addition, free cooking demonstrations will reveal the secrets of Thai cuisine for people looking to recreate their favourite delicacy at home.

Elsewhere, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a Thai massage and experience the country's national sport as a live Muay Thai tournament gets underway.

There will also be performances from an international Thai dance group and a raffle draw offering the chance to win free tickets to Bangkok.

Visitor attractions located at Federation Square include the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, which houses two cinemas hosting a variety of special events and director tributes.

The facility also includes a permanent exhibition entitled Screen Worlds: The Story of Film, Television and Digital Culture.
