Holidaymakers save on last minute holidays booked with holiday holiday travel agents says

Despite the weak pound, holidaymakers are taking advantage of savings available right now on last minute holidays to popular destinations such as the Canary Islands, Egypt, Balearic Islands and Portugal. Booking through travel agents advertising on sites like is helping consumers to haggle down prices on their favourite holiday hotspots and hotels they want to stay in.

"Many holidaymakers use to their advantage by ringing a few of the travel agents advertising a similar deal and haggling the cost of the holiday down" says Emma Healey, Director.

But with DIY last minute holidays becoming more common in the past few years and some consumers feeling confident enough to book directly with hotels, how can travel agents compete? Emma comments, "There is a great desire to reduce the amount of money paid for a holiday by consumers now and some think that going direct to the hotel and booking cheap flights to package their own last minute holidays is the cheapest way to achieve this. However, this isn't always the case. All of the travel agents advertising on are ATOL and ABTA bonded meaning that they are able to tailor make and package the holiday for the consumer, often discounting it further. By using this method as opposed to DIY the consumer also benefits from the protection of ATOL should anything happen to their holiday."

So are package holidays and travel agents the way forward again? It certainly seems so. Consumers have the power to reduce their holiday costs by using sites such as holiday holiday, putting them in contact with hundreds of UK travel agents at one time, allowing them to compare one holiday against the other and to haggle the best price, best upgrade, free perks and so on. On the offside, drawbacks to creating a DIY holiday can include no protection at all if e.g. the airline suddenly announces strikes, or the company goes bust.

But the added bonus of using holiday holiday is that by booking through an agent on the website the holidaymaker also benefits from peace of mind and protection should anything go wrong."
