LateRooms.com reports the annual Bath Spring Flower Show will run from May 1st to 3rd this year, bringing gardening enthusiasts from all over the country to the Somerset city.

Now in its 24th year, the event takes place in the pleasant surroundings of the Royal Victoria Park and is a popular way to spend the May bank holiday for many local people.

Visitors staying in Cotswolds hotels may like to use the event as an opportunity to stock up on flowers for the summer, as plants from nurseries around the UK will be available.

As well as the wide range of fuchsias, geraniums, carnations, pansies and other blooms on display, the show includes lectures from top gardening experts, cookery demonstrations and intricate displays of floral art.

Tickets are priced at £7.50 for adults, while children under 16 can enter the show for free.

On the final day of the festival, a grand sale of plants takes place from 16:30 local time, offering a great opportunity to find a bargain.

Royal Victoria Park opened to the public in 1830 and covers approximately 57 acres of Bath.

Overlooked by the city's famous Royal Crescent, the park includes a skateboard ramp, a bowling green, tennis courts and a children's play area.
