Secret Ingredient Dinner at Chicago's Vermilion to Lend Culinary Mystery to Easter Sunday

CHICAGO – Vermilion Owner Rohini Dey and her team will celebrate an extraordinary convergence of two events – Executive Chef Maneet Chauhan being named one of the Culinary Institute of America's (CIA)"Best Chefs in the World" (the youngest and one of the few women graduates of that august institution to be so recognized) and Chef Chauhan competing on IRON CHEF AMERICA with the presentation of the Secret Ingredient Dinner, a mysterious multi-dimensional event, on Sunday, April 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the North River restaurant. An intriguing alternative to Easter Sunday dining.

The Secret Ingredient Dinner will feature the identical five-course menu, rife with Vermilion's hallmark fusion of compelling Indian and Latin flavors, Chef Chauhan and her team executed during her IRON CHEF AMERICA battle against Iron Chef Morimoto and will offer diners the opportunity watch the debut of their on-air Kitchen Stadium performance (April 4, 9:00-10:00 p.m.) with live commentary by Chef Chauhan about the experience. During the evening, diners will also see the secret ingredient that was the foundation of the Chauhan / Morimoto bout put to work during Chef Chauhan's interactive demonstration of one of the courses.

And to launch the evening, they will join Rohini Dey, Vermilion's owner, in a toast to Chef Chauhan with an "herb & spice" cocktail inspired by the secret ingredient. The first guest to correctly guess the drink's gastronomical mystery muse will be rewarded with an off-menu dinner for two at Vermilion Chicago or New York City. All correct guessers will be entitled to half off their next meal at Vermilion.

Vermilion's Secret Ingredient Dinner, lending culinary mystery to Easter Sunday, will take place on April 4, from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. at 10 W. Hubbard (at the intersection of N. State). The price is $60 per person for the evening's signature cocktail, five-course dinner, cooking demonstration and IRON CHEF AMERICA airing.* (A five-course vegetarian menu will also be available) / For reservations, please call 312-527-4060.
