AsiaRooms.com divulges people staying in hotels in Singapore next month may find that the Singapore Arts Festival offers an interesting diversion.

The annual event will take place from May 14th until June 13th and features a host of cultural activities and exhibitions.

Every year, the festival has a different theme and in 2010, this is Between You and Me, which aims to involve people more closely with the arts.

The month-long event promises plenty of performances to choose from, with live music, plays and dance shows all scheduled to take place.

Among them is Football! Football! - which examines the art of the sport through a series of mediums, including dance, music, video, theatre and technology.

This particular performance will take place on May 20th and 21st at the Victoria Theatre.

Anyone who wants to attend should check the festival's website for a full schedule as well as ticketing information because prices vary depending on the venue and event.

There are also several free displays on offer, including Invitation to a Dream, which is a fire garden installation that will be on show in the Esplanade Park and Empress Palace from May 14th to 16th.

Another option for anyone who wants to get under the skin of Singapore's culture is Zapin D'Muara, a show featuring some traditional Malay dances.
