AsiaRooms.com divulges people who are booking hotels in Chiang Mai during May could be interested in an exhibition of Lanna art that will be taking place in the city next month.

Running from May 8th to 16th, visitors to the area will only have a short period of time to view the installations at the Rachamankha hotel.

As well as a host of paintings featuring the style of this Thai region, there will also be live performances dedicated to Lanna.

Music and dancing from this area of northern Thailand will be on offer for people to watch on the opening night of the exhibition.

Tickets start from 350 Thai baht (£7.14) for a space in the standing area, or 750 Thai baht for the seated section.

Ahead of the show, there will also be a reception where food and wine will be offered to all those attending.

People staying in hotels in Thailand are welcome to arrive at the venue from 18:00 (local time), with the performance scheduled to start at 19:30.

Thereafter, the exhibition of paintings will be free to browse and will be open every day until May 16th from 08:30 until 21:30.

Lanna art takes its inspiration from nature, with cultural influences from Laos and Mynamar also playing a part in its development.
