LateRooms.com divulges anyone who is staying in Auckland hotels will know that the city has strong links with the sea.

For four days next month, thousands of people will head to Auckland for the Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show.

Running from May 13th to 16th, the event will showcase the best boats on offer, as well as play host to the country's largest fishing supermarket.

It is certainly worth a visit for anyone who has an interest in taking to the waters while staying in New Zealand or simply for people who enjoy learning about maritime matters.

Tickets for the show cost NZ$17 and all the exhibits will be open from 10:00 until 21:00 (local time) on the Thursday and Friday and from 10:00 until 18:00 on the Saturday and Sunday.

In addition to the boat manufacturers and fishing tackle suppliers that have stands at the event, there will be a number of special talks taking place throughout the boat show's duration.

Among them are Hiwi the Kiwi and the Minstrel - who will be putting on family-friendly performances - and there will be daily demonstrations of the Grand Prix hydroplane, G-Force, which boasts a 510 cubic inch blown injected Chev V8 engine.
