- Enjoy a Balikpapan fashion show on a trip to Ubud

June 02, 2010 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News highlights people staying in Ubud hotels during June and July should make sure that they attend at least one of the shows on offer as part of the Bali Arts Festival.

In addition to the performances and activities detailing Balinese culture, there will also be exhibits from other parts of Indonesia.

On June 30th, one such event is taking place. Between 18:30 and 20:00 (local time), anyone visiting the Ksirarnawa Hall will be able to watch a dance and Balikpapan traditional cloth fashion show.

Balikpapan is a city in Borneo that is located in a region renowned for the fine sarong cloth it produces.

The native culture in the area is also distinct from elsewhere in Indonesia, which means that anyone who attends this show at the Bali Arts Festival will find it unlike anything else they have seen on the island.

Organised by the Youth, Sport, Cultural and Tourism Office of Balikpapan City, the production promises to give audiences a taste of another part of Indonesian culture.

Also due to be held on June 30th are a puppet show and exhibition, as well as several other dance shows from Bali and other parts of Indonesia.

For more information on this event visit the Bali Arts Festival website.
