LAS VEGAS, NV - EMILY's List, the nation's largest grassroots political network and financial resource for women running for elective office, today announced its endorsement of Dina Titus in her bid for Governor of Nevada.

"Dina Titus is an enormously effective state senator, with a record of achievement that has improved the lives of Nevadans," said Ellen R. Malcolm, president of EMILY's List. "As governor, she will continue the tradition of tough and effective leadership that has been a hallmark of her career in public service. EMILY's List considers this to be a top priority statewide race."

A seasoned professional, Titus currently serves as the state senate minority leader, a position she has held since 1992. She is a courageous advocate and has won praise for her unwavering political convictions. Titus has never been afraid to take on the tough fights in order to protect the interests of voters. She went up against developers to save Red Rock Canyon and against interests in her own party to freeze property tax rates. She stood up to casinos to protect neighborhoods and has been tireless in her efforts on behalf of children and families. Throughout her tenure, her top priority has been to ensure that every Nevadan has the opportunity to make a better life for themselves.

"I am proud to gain the support of the thousands of individual women and men who are members of EMILY's List," said Titus. "It is time to show that every Nevadan matters."

With more than 100,000 members, including more than 25,000 on the West Coast and Nevada, EMILY's List is the largest political action committee in the nation. Since its founding in 1985, EMILY's List has helped elect 61 pro-choice Democratic women to the U.S. House, 11 to the U.S. Senate, and eight governors. In only ten election cycles, EMILY's List has helped elect hundreds of pro-choice Democratic women to federal office, state legislatures, state constitutional offices and other key local offices.
