- Get your running shoes on for the Pattaya Marathon

June 16, 2010 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News highlights anyone who enjoys the challenge of long-distance running should think about booking themselves a spot in the Pattaya Marathon and staying in Pattaya hotels.

Taking place on July 18th, it costs US$45 (£31.15) to enter the race.

All of the action will begin on Pattaya Beach Road, with three distances on offer for adults to compete in.

Runners can choose from the quarter, half or full marathon, with each promising to be good fun.

Any children under the age of 15 can also get their running shoes on if they wish and take part in the 5,000km race.

The marathon course follows a circular route, so if you position yourself near the start line to watch them all race off, you will also be ideally placed to see the winners cross the finishing line.

Spectators can watch from anywhere along the route free of charge, so anyone staying in Thailand hotels could decide to turn up on the day and provide the runners with some support.

Anyone who wants to catch the action will need to be an early riser though, with the first of the races starting at 04:20 (local time) to avoid the midday heat.

For more information on this event visit the Pattaya Marathon website or contact the organisers on +66 38 253 129.
