- Sustainable Land Use conference to take place in Hanoi

June 20, 2010 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News can announce that travellers who will be staying in accommodation in Hanoi next month should head down to the International Symposium on Sustainable Land Use and learn a few lessons about how to care for the planet.

Run by experts from Hohenheim University and Hanoi University of Agriculture, the event will take place between July 21st and 23rd 2010.

Sustainable Land Use and Rural Development in Mountainous Regions of South-East Asia, to give the conference its full title, will look to explain to attendees the best ways that individuals and businesses can reduce their impact on the environment.

Anyone who heads to the event during their stay in accommodation in Hanoi can expect to be given a "tremendous opportunity to share experiences" about research into the region's natural habitats and ways in which land can be developed more effectively, according to the show's organisers.

Agriculture is of major importance to Vietnam, with Hanoi University of Agriculture previously stating that it makes up about a fifth of the country's gross domestic product.

The industry is growing at an annual rate of around four per cent and almost two-thirds of the nation's workers are employed by the sector, the educational body has claimed.

It is also one of the top five global exporters of rice, coffee and rubber.
