LateRooms.com - Australia and New Zealand to contest Bledisloe Cup in Melbourne

July 07, 2010 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News
LateRooms.com can announce that one of the biggest rivalries in sport will recommence in Melbourne as Australia take on New Zealand in Bledisloe Cup rugby at the end of this month.

The city's Etihad Stadium is going to play host to the match, which takes place on July 31st 2010 and kicks off at 20:00 local time.

It will be the All Blacks' and Wallabies' second game of this year's Tri Nations series, with New Zealand getting their campaign up and running in Auckland against world champions South Africa on July 10th.

Australia, on the other hand, will not play their first 2010 Tri Nations game until July 24th, when the Springboks come to Brisbane.

Both the Kiwis and the Aussies will be hopeful of improving on their performances in the 2009 series, when a dominant South Africa claimed the title by eight clear points after being beaten just once in their six matches.

Tickets are still available for the clash, but only in limited numbers and fans should expect to pay at least A$169 (£96) to get a seat.

It is recommended that people who are planning to watch the match at the Etihad Stadium, or just soak up the Melbourne atmosphere ahead of the occasion, should book their hotels as soon as possible.
