LateRooms.com - Take the family to Gold Coast's Fun at Any Age Multicultural Festival

July 24, 2010 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News
LateRooms.com reports the Fun at Any Age Multicultural Festival in Arundel is being billed as a great day out for families staying in Gold Coast accommodation.

Set to take place on August 21st 2010, the event has been organised by the African Communities Association as part of the celebrations for Seniors Week 2010, which gets underway on August 14th.

Across Queensland, a whole host of activities have been planned as part of the seven-day occasion - including garden parties, dances and lunches – in a bid to promote a positive attitude towards ageing.

It is also hoped that such events will encourage elderly people in the state to lead a more active lifestyle.

People staying in Surfers Paradise hotels can join in with the fun by heading to the festival at the Parkwood-Arundel Community Centre and enjoying the entertainment on offer.

An authentic Aussie sausage sizzle will be held to mark the occasion, as well as a Japanese cooking demonstration, African and Indian food tastings and lessons in henna and origami.

Despite this packed itinerary, those who are planning to head to the event will not have to pay anything to get in and even the food is free.

The day will get started at 12:00 and will run until 15:00 local time.

For more information on this event, visit the Gold Coast City Council website or contact the organiser on (+61) 4 07 127 710.

LateRooms.com features an array of accommodation on the Gold Coast, including the Australis Sovereign Hotel Gold Coast.
