Boomerang Deal an extraordinary love-story



Up-and-coming US actress Thora Birch (American Beauty, Ghost World) has signed on to star in the female lead alongside Harry Connick Jr. in this original take on the screwball comedy.



"I am very pleased that Thora has joined the cast of Boomerang Deal – together with Harry they'll make a knock-out screen couple,' says Phillip Marzella (writer-director-producer on Low-Fat Elephants (2000)).



Developed by the Australian Film Commission – Boomerang Deal is an offbeat screwball comedy about deal making, bungling hitmen and love.



"Boomerang Deal is a love-story about an unlikely couple who could easily fall in love if they only managed to get along.' says Phillip. "A very fresh take on the romantic comedy' agrees Thora.



In addition to Thora, Daniel Scharf has joined Boomerang Deal as producer – Daniel is the producer of ‘Romper Stomper' - the film that launched Russell Crowe's career, and has currently produced ‘Tom White' (which received 12 nominations for this year's AFI awards). Daniel is attending AFM this November with Boomerang Deal.



Acrobat Films is in talks with international distributors with the release of Boomerang Deal planned for 2006.



Production for Boomerang Deal is to begin in early 2005.
