Real estate market in Eastern Europe is under constant development, but analysts believe that some of the properties there, which are considered de luxe, can hardly meet world's luxury standards.

Knight Frank associates in Prague believe that only two properties can really be considered luxury ones. Their features are impressive indeed. About 2000 square feet of interior area with daylight, luxury terraces, spacious bathroom facilities, wooden floors, parking lot for the owner, a videophone (for apartments) and security systems.

According to real estate specialists in Prague dealing with sales of residential properties, luxury real estate buyers are purchasing properties in Prague's historic center. Moreover, they are also faced with restored houses or apartments in old buildings, as newly built real estate is mainly located in the outskirts.

There are some, so to say, cultural divergences. Buyers in Prague usually equip and furnish their kitchens on their own. Although some of the buildings provide concierge services, video control systems are far rarer than in Western Europe. Property owners there do not often feel safe when kept a look-out.
