National Bank of Dominica Executive Manager Human Resource & Organisational Development, Verieux Mourillon, designed and facilitated sessions in Organisational Assessments for middle managers of the public sector. These sessions were incorporated in Organisational Development workshops administered by government's Establishment, Personnel and Training Department from 17 to 27 August 2010.

This is one way in which the National Bank of Dominica Ltd contributes to leadership development in the public sector. The Bank's regulations limit the outside engagements of its employees; however over the years the Bank has encouraged its staff to be involved in education and development in the public sector as well as in activities of selected non-state actors.

The sessions in Organisational Assessments challenged public sector middle managers to use an open systems view and a participatory style. The sessions also reinforced the concept of Organisational Assessments as a capacity-building mechanism. Participants were drawn from various parts of the Health sector, police and prison services, Ministry of Finance, Public Works, Tourism and Education. Attendees claimed that the sessions were hands-on and very relevant to their respective situations.

The National Bank of Dominica Ltd will continue its active cooperation with the public sector in several areas including health, education, sports and culture.
