LateRooms.com reports people looking to educate themselves during a stay in Tenby could head to a forthcoming event in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

One of the many guided walks arranged by the park, 500 Million Years to Now! offers visitors an insight into the geological, archaeological and historical development of this stunning region.

The three-mile route along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path begins in the village of Abercastle on Thursday September 23rd.

People staying in one of the fine hotels Tenby has to offer are required to meet at 13:45 BST in Trefin, before catching the shuttle bus service to Abercastle.

The walk should last until approximately 17:00 and promises to be an enlightening experience for those keen to hear the stories behind the national park's dramatic landscape.

Some areas of steeply sloping ground are included in the route, but it is generally easy going.

Walkers are advised to bring binoculars and the event costs £3.50 for adults, with concessions priced at £2.

Measuring 186 miles from Poppit Sands to Amroth near Tenby, the Pembrokeshire Coast Path is one of the 15 designated National Trails in England and Wales.

Offering views of some of Britain's most breathtaking scenery, the path is also famed for its sandy beaches and diverse wildlife.
