Motoring enthusiasts are sure to flock to the Gold Coast Autorama to show off their classic vehicles and take in the sights of the local area.

Gold Coast accommodation will be full of vintage car lovers during the event, which takes place on October 16th and 17th 2010, with organisers urging participants to bring their cameras.

The Gold Coast Antique Auto Club (GCAAC) has promised there will be plenty to see and do at this year's show, with the activities kicking off on the first day at the organisation's clubhouse in Mudgeeraba.

A tour around the society's museum, a barbeque and a series of races will take place, prior to a scenic drive in which participants will get to see some of the sights of the Gold Coast.

Surfers Paradise hotels customers who attend the second day will then be able to head off on a rally, with the organisers stressing that although the route has been designed with older vehicles in mind, it will still be challenging.

Entrance costs have yet to be confirmed, but anyone keen to take part should register as soon as possible, as only 100 places are available.

The inaugural meeting of the GCAAC took place in November 1968, with its first car rally being held in January 1969.
