Pittsburgh, PA – October 25, 2004 – Guru.com, the world's largest online marketplace for freelance talent, was named the Pittsburgh Technology Council's Tech 50 Service Provider Industry Leader at the Council's Seventh Annual Tech 50 awards ceremony. This is the second year in a row that Guru.com was named leader in the Service Provider category, and the third consecutive year that Guru.com was recognized by the Technology Council. The ceremony was held on October 14, 2004 at the Carnegie Music Hall in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Each year, the Pittsburgh Technology Council recognizes the leading fifty technology-oriented companies in southwestern Pennsylvania. Ten companies are acknowledged in each of the following five industry categories: Advanced Manufacturing, Biomedical, Information Technology, Service Provider, and Rising Star. One industry leader is selected in each category. Those named to the Tech 50 must demonstrate their success in six key areas: revenue growth, job growth and retention, corporate citizenship, research and development, innovative product/technology, and new product development.

"We are grateful to the Pittsburgh Technology Council for this recognition,' stated Inder Guglani, Guru.com's CEO and co-founder. "This recognition is very satisfying for the Guru team, that has persevered though some of the toughest times, perception-wise, for an internet company. Contrary to the general perceptions, the Council, through its keynote speakers for Tech 50 awards, has continued to promote the positive trends occurring on the internet. We applaud the Council for this effort.'

The Tech 50 was selected by an independent panel of judges comprised of individuals from Pittsburgh Technology Council member organizations. Judges reviewed nomination forms from hundreds of private and publicly traded technology companies headquartered within the 13-county southwestern Pennsylvania region.
