More than fifty thousand visitors flocked to the 20th Abitare il Tempo trade fair for luxury furniture and home decorating accessories, held in Verona September 15 through 19.

At the trade fair Iris Ceramica presented a sneak preview of some of the new products in its MA.DE - Materials and Design 05 collection, with an installation by architects Ludovica+Roberto Palomba, who created the Terra e Fuoco exhibition at Fuorisalone del mobile in Milan for the company in 2005, as well as providing artistic direction at the last Abitare il Tempo trade fair.

The concept behind the installation is based on the combination of materials and design, and takes the form of a hybrid space which could be incorporated into a home or a modern hotel, a boutique or a fashionable night spot: a spacious environment, very sparely furnished, in which ceramic tile materials become the true decor complements.

A workshop of ideas on the role of textures and formats in interior design, the ways light and colour work together, a decorative style centring around the concept "less is more" and a philosophy of composition that breaks out of the usual mould to combine stone with metal, natural fibre floorings with a futuristic surface of iridescent pyramids.
