LateRooms.com can announce that the Santiago Rusinol painting Portrait of Miquel Utrillo is due to be put on show at the Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao (MBAB) this year.

Hotel Bilbao guests can see this stunning picture from September 21st 2010 to January 9th 2011, with the temporary exhibition giving visitors a rare chance to take a closer look at the famous Catalan artist's handiwork.

Rusinol, who was born in Barcelona in 1861, is widely accepted to have influenced fellow Spanish painter Pablo Picasso and was a leading figure in the Catalan Modernist movement.

Art enthusiasts may be aware that he is not well known for producing many portraits, which makes this piece even more special and intriguing.

The venue explained that the figure in the painting is a man who lived in Paris with Rusinol, with the background showing the park at Moulin de la Galette.

"Although not particularly prolific in the genre, his portraits are nevertheless of high quality, as is abundantly clear from the Portrait of Miquel Utrillo, one of the finest of all his productions," a spokesperson for the arts space remarked.

Opening hours for the venue are from Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 and 20:00 local time.

Admission to the museum costs €6 (£5.10), with no extra payment required to see this guest painting.

For more information on this event visit the MBAB website or contact the venue on +34 94 439 60 60.
