How to Get Famous on Amazon.com

October 03, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Everybody knows it’s easier to get famous now that a few well-chosen words on your website get you the same visibility on Google and Yahoo as a million dollar PR campaign. But it still takes more than HTML tricks to achieve the lasting fame of an Angelina and Brad, a Paris and Paris or a Rolls and a Royce.

It takes Amazon.com.

“Before I reviewed a book on Amazon.com, I was just somebody who was putting off getting famous till I accomplished something,” said 1,044,407th top Amazon reviewer Sondra Lowell. “Now I am taking my famousness into my own hands and helping others as well with my new guide, So You’d Like to Get Famous on Amazon.com.

“Already, this guide is 49 with a bullet (or maybe without) on Amazon’s Top 100 So You’d Like to… guides. With successes like that piling up, I expect to be the subject of an E! True Hollywood Story and the 1,044,406th top Amazon reviewer in no time.”

Sondra’s Get Famous on Amazon.com guide tells how to write an Amazon guide that purports to help readers solve their problems (such as famousnesslessness) while actually promoting the writer’s own books, tapes, DVDs and personal fame. In her own guide, Sondra relentlessly refers to her nearly finished first digital feature, WebcamMurder.com, as an example of a product to use as an example and manages to get in that it is: 1.) nearly completed, 2.) the movie for people who live their lives on the Internet and 3.) the first film in the Film Sleepy genre, movies that put the audience to sleep.

“Forty-nine on the list of the Top 100 is OK for now,” said the 1,044,407th place reviewer, “but they’d have to be nuts not to move me higher in a hurry. I mean, knowing How to Get Famous is helpful to a lot more people than how to Become a Die Hard Motley Crue fan, so it wouldn’t ruffle too many feathers to switch my 49th place with their 14th. And how to Become a Tea Connoisseur (the Basics), the number one guide, is something you can easily put off dealing with till after you’re famous, so it is in the best interest of Amazon customers for How to Get Famous on Amazon.com to be number one and move back the tea connoisseur stuff to 14 or any number that comes after one.”

Sondra’s next planned So You’d Like to… guide will teach shoppers to Make a Movie That Puts the Audience to Sleep. Her blog about WebcamMurder.com and Film Sleepy is at www.WebcamMurder.blogspot.com.
