LateRooms.com - Catch some waves at Gold Coast's Kirra Surfstock festival

October 03, 2010 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News
Kirra Surfstock 2010 is set to take place midway through November and is sure to encourage lovers of beach culture to head to Gold Coast hotels.

The event runs between November 12th and 14th in and around the southern Gold Coast suburb of Kirra, only a short journey from the majority of Surfers Paradise hotels.

According to the organisers, the three-day spectacle is the Gold Coast's premier surfing and lifestyle festival, which means that movies and music - as well as catching some waves - will be among the entertainment.

Many thousands of people ventured to the inaugural Kirra Surfstock in 2009 and with a host of new entertainment, some old favourites and a couple of surprises planned, this year's instalment could prove to be even more popular.

Although the organisers have remained tight-lipped so far about the exact line-up of the 2010 festival, visitors can expect to enjoy fashion shows, surfing competitions and more - last year's event even boasted a book launch from legendary surfer Bob McTavish.

However, some details have been confirmed, with the Surfstock website stating: "Look out for some Guinness and a lot of surfers on one wave."

Despite the array of entertainment on offer, 5 star hotels Gold Coast customers will not have to pay a cent to attend.

For more information on this event, visit the Kirra Surfstock website or contact the organisers on (+61) 4 1456 9208.
