Rasa Design Studio makes switch from web design to e-commerce design.

Owner, Sean Rice, explains it this way: "For businesses, a web site is a thing that simply sits there and collects dust. A 'web site with e-Commerce capabilities' is worse: It's a web site that's been jury-rigged with functionality, but still collects dust." Clients want them, but Rasa Design Studio refuses to build mere electronic brochures anymore.

"They're ineffectual," Mr. Rice continues. "What small businesses need are sites that are totally geared toward achieving objectives… not 'conveying information objectives', but real bottom line objectives. A web site is usually built around the look. An e-Commerce site is built around the target result. It is designed with the marketing plan already in place and tools to implement that plan and quantify results."

The studio is experimenting with a select list of small retail clients who have agreed to let Rasa Design Studio design and market their web business from top to bottom. "We are handling everything from Design to programming to shipping logistics for suppliers and drop shippers that literally span the globe."

The results?

The experimental sites are making money and beating expectations.

Rasa Design Studio plans to expand this new client base and accept certain clients that fit within certain industry niches.

"We're looking for clients that sell Skin Care products, Bath and Body, high-end lingerie, fashion and fashion accessories."

Why those?

"They sell."
