Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. Completes Rigging and Removal of Bakery Equipment.

October 25, 2004 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. (Dallas Contracting) was contracted by this large producer of specialty foods to rig and removal various bakery equipment from a former bakery in central New Jersey. The equipment consisted of two (2) pancake lines (about 30 ft long and 6 feet wide) and associated vent hoods, four (4) depositors, four (4) control panels, one (1) flow wrapper and two (2) carton gluers, associated conveyors and miscellaneous spare parts. There were also several items that needed to be dismantled, removed and sent offsite for scrap metal recycling. The items to be cut up for scrap included two waffle lines, associated hoods, miscellaneous spare parts and some steel supports.

Prior to removal of the equipment all utilities (gas, electric, sprinklers) were disconnected and capped. Lock-out/Tag-out procedures were also conducted.

Due to their size and bulk, some of the larger lines had to be dismantled so that they could be shipped properly. The conveyor and vent hoods were disassembled and carefully rigged into the trucks. Dismantlement and rigging was conducted by Dallas Contracting's own in-house rigging crew with our own equipment. Some equipment also required crating due to exposed sensitive electrical and mechanical components. All miscellaneous spare parts were also put into crates in order that they would be secure during transportation. Crating was performed by Dallas Contracting's own in house carpentry personnel. All equipment and spare parts were carefully rigged out of the facility and loaded into three trucks.

Some remaining items including two (2) waffle lines, some old spare parts, miscellaneous steel supports and an old mixer were dismantled and sent offsite for scrap metal recycling.

Following the completion of the equipment dismantlement, rigging and removal, the facility was broom swept clean. In addition, any obsolete conduit, wiring and supports were removed and cut back flush with the facility wall. The owner of the building was able to have the new tenant for the facility move in on schedule.
