When John Landy and his father Louis decided to purchase a small general hardware store on Cuttermill Road in Great Neck, New York, they had no idea what the future held in store for them. It was 1960 and the father-son duo simply sought to capitalize on the tiny Kolson Hardware storefront. Ten years later, they relocated to a larger site on Middle Neck Road with a lumberyard in back and a top floor of rented apartments. Little did they know, this is where Kolson Hardware would flourish, and for the next 40 years they would play a major part in the decorative hardware industry.

Over the 50 year span that Kolson Hardware has been under the control of the Landy's, the store has been transformed from a steady general hardware business to a much bigger and sophisticated high-end dealership for plumbing fixtures and decorative hardware. They created a new business model aimed at supplying unique styles of hardware from all over America as well as France, Italy, Spain, England and Germany. The relationships forged between John and the top American and European hardware manufacturers would lead to a long and successful life for Kolson.

Today, Kolson Hardware is a landmark for all in search of the latest products and trends in decorative hardware. With luxurious showrooms spanning over two full floors, Kolson Hardware has grown into a beacon of innovation for architects and designers everywhere. Their incredible selection of faucets, sinks, mirrors, medicine cabinets, toilets, and bathroom accessories is second to none, providing a trusted and consistent source of inspiration to all those in need.
