CHICAGO— With an eye toward the Chicago skyline and with the goal of filling season ticket seats, Flow Creative helped ready the Chicago Sky, the WNBA’s newest team, by creating a distinctive logo and integrated launch campaign.

“We had a great name. And Flow created a great logo for us,” said Margaret Stender, president and CEO of the Chicago Sky. “With that integral graphical element completed, we then turned to other key executions. Flow has helped us get this team off the ground, with great work and solid team effort.”

The team’s logo will be the tallest in the WNBA. It was designed to convey aspiration, high energy, and characteristics that are distinctly Chicago. The new logo for the Chicago Sky was unveiled today at the Adler Planetarium, one of the best places to view Chicago’s magnificent skyline.

Other elements of the campaign included advertising, posters, banners, promotions, street teams, radio, and a basketball clinic, coordinated by Paragon Sports Marketing, which featured WNBA stars and Chicago Sky General Manager and Head Coach Dave Cowens.

“Having our work displayed on national broadcasts will be great. When he sees the Sky jersey, my dad, the world’s biggest sport’s nut, will finally appreciate what I do,” said Jeff Clift, Flow principal.
“I have a pathetic vertical leap,” said Peter Zapf, Flow principal. But the Sky’s values as an organization and commitment to Chicago, including working with us, make me jump for joy.”

Flow Creative is a Chicago-based boutique. It helps leading marketers create, revitalize and express integrated marketing communications. Clients include: Chicago Board Options Exchange, Chicago Sky, Gap, Golub & Company, International Awards Group, Morton Arboretum, MotiveQuest, and University of Chicago.
