October 22, 2010 Even with money being tight for most in the UK, Brits are proving that they still find taking a break away from home important as reveals that one and two week rentals have increased for the third quarter.

The findings came from car rentals that were booked from July to September 2010 and showed that 7 day bookings that were made had accounted for 22% of rental cars, 14 days rental figures should that 8% of cars were used. These figures were up by 1% from the same months during 2009.

As the findings were examined they also revealed that there was a new trend of travellers extending their original weekend break to short holidays. Other figures included, 2 and 3 day bookings had gone down to 18% from 20% over the last year, however an increase of 3% was found with those booking cars for 4 to 5 days, which took up 17% of bookings. Gareth Robinson stated, "Due to the increase we have seen for one and two week hire car bookings, it is clear that taking a holiday is important to people in the UK. Despite the current financial crisis people are now increasing their weekend holidays away turning it into a mini holiday. On par with 2 to 3 day bookings is 4 to 5 day rentals."

Managing Director Mr Robinson adds, "As fuel prices rise and the government make cuts, many Brits want to get away and take a trip. They can now compare prices of rentals at our website to find some great deals enabling to take trips away."
