UNITED VAN LINES AGENTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY PROVIDE AID TO HURRICANE KATRINA VICTIMS

ST. LOUIS – United Van Lines, the nation’s largest mover, has a network of 500 agents across the country, many of which are donating vehicles, manpower and time to deliver necessary aid to hurricane victims. Recognizing the need for added transportation, many United agents partnered with local organizations needing assistance delivering donations to affected areas and people.

Hilldrup Moving & Storage
Hilldrup Moving & Storage, based in Virginia, has transported donations collected at its facilities along the East Coast in 10 trucks to three different locations in the South. Hilldrup also donated its services to Operation Backpack, transporting backpacks with supplies from Washington D.C. to Baton Rouge, La.

O’Neil Moving Systems
This California-based United Van Lines agent, provided two trucks to deliver 1,500 boxes of donations collected in a clothing drive organized by the L.A. Help Group. One truck delivered clothing to Bell Gardens Salvation Army Shelter in Los Angeles and the other to Dallas, Texas.

Davidson Transfer & Storage
Maryland-based Davidson Transfer and Storage donated a truck and driver to transport clothing and pet food donated by the surf apparel industry from California to Louisiana and Texas. Former surf industry executive Mark Hirschman spearheaded the collection of industry clothing donations for the Red Cross and FEMA through his Irvine, Calif. office.

Armstrong Moving and Storage
The Colorado office of Armstrong Moving and Storage hauled several truckloads of water from Colorado to Louisiana.

Ramar Moving Systems, Inc.
Maryland-based United Van Lines agent, Ramar Moving Systems, supplied a tractor, trailer and driver to transport a load of water to Tupelo, Miss.
