Rugged Computer Manufacturer New Focus on Fleet Management

November 29, 2010 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
For optimised fleet management, Advantech-DLoG will be displaying the TREK-550 embedded box PC, certified to ISO-7637, SAE-J1113, SAE-J1466 and SAE-J1119 and awarded the Best Choice Award at Computex 2010. This may be combined with the TREK 303 touch-sensor display, which will also be demonstrated at LogiMAT 2011. This highly flexible system will be used in fleets of trucks, buses, taxis and emergency vehicles. In addition to box systems for in-vehicle computing combined with separate displays, Advantech-DLoG also offers 7-inch all-in-one systems.

Extremely robust and still more versatile: XMT 5 Construction, agricultural and mining vehicles are the intended targets of the further expanded XMT 5/7 and XMT 5/10 vehicle terminals. These compact devices with high-resolution 7-inch or 10-inch touch screens (resistive/LED) were developed by Advantech-DLoG specifically for off-road vehicles without suspension and for lift trucks. The XMT 5, equipped with WWAN, GSM, diversity WLAN and GPS, far exceeds the robustness requirements of theMIL 810F military standard (custom versions are certified for six times greater vibration loads).

Built-in GPS, WWAN and CFast, displays designed to be read in sunlight and the new Windows 7 (Embedded Standard) or the "standardized" DLog Linux operating systems increase the possibilities available to the XMT 5 and MTC 6.

The MTC 6 has also been expanded For logistics, manufacturing, ports or frozen storage facilities, Advantech-DLoG will demonstrate the functionally extended mobile MTC 6/10 and MTC 6/12 thin clients with LED technology and a resistive touch sensor. Alongside true WLAN space diversity, WLAN 802.11 n, voice kit for VoIP and CFast mass storage media, the fanless MTC 6 also offers IP 65/66 class protection for moist, dusty, or chemically or thermally aggressive environments. The 12-inch version extends the easily and flexibly configurable all-rounder with XGA, offering visualization of vehicle and machine statuses.
