Ceatus Media Group is extending its involvement in charitable activities to its newest Web portal, All About Facial Rejuvenation. Beginning today, the website will help raise awareness about domestic violence and the work done by the FACE TO FACE National Domestic Violence Project, a component of the Educational and Research Foundation for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. All About Facial Rejuvenation will also promote donations to FACE TO FACE by providing a direct link to the donation page on the organization's website.

Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women in the United States, and the statistics are staggering. One in four women has experienced domestic violence in her lifetime. And while 85 percent of all intimate partner violence cases involve female victims, men are also abused by domestic partners. Three-quarters of the injuries inflicted during domestic violence incidents occur on the head, face, and neck - areas that often require complicated surgical procedures such as reconstructive rhinoplasty.

Through the FACE TO FACE initiative, 275 facial plastic surgeons provide free reconstructive surgery to victims of domestic violence. The group also works with shelters across the U.S to help these individuals leave abusive relationships and heal emotionally.

"Many people are unaware that these programs exist and that there are surgeons that are willing to donate their skills and services free of charge," says current FACE TO FACE chairman Harrison C. Putman, III, MD, a facial plastic surgeon in Peoria, Illinois, and the new chairman of FACE TO FACE. "Emotional rehabilitation is tied to removing physical manifestations of violence that haunt [domestic violence victims] whenever they look in the mirror."

Past FACE TO FACE chairman Andrew Jacono, MD, a facial plastic surgeon in New York City and Great Neck, NY, adds, "We are grateful to All About Facial Rejuvenation for helping to raise awareness of domestic violence and the life-changing role that reconstructive surgery can play."

All About Facial Rejuvenation's new promotional campaign will feature important information on domestic violence and the many ways that the FACE TO FACE National Domestic Violence Project helps to improve the lives of those affected.

"We are proud to support the hard work of the FACE TO FACE National Domestic Violence Project," says Editorial Director Denise Mann. "These doctors have been instrumental in changing the lives of many people affected by domestic violence, and in helping them to move forward."

Online since fall 2010, All About Facial Rejuvenation provides 150 pages of up-to-date information on all aspects of facial plastic surgery, including blepharoplasty, facelift and brow lift. This site is produced by Ceatus Media Group, an online publisher of consumer health information portals.
