Photo In Canvas the UK online photo canvas retailer has announced the addition of the Google Checkout platform to their retail website to offer another payment option in addition to credit/debit cards and Paypal.

By adding Google Checkout the retailer believes they are helping its customers to streamline and shorten the payment process. Similar to PayPal, Google Checkout offers secure transactions for products and services where the consumer logs into their Google account to complete the transaction. With consumers always mindful of security when it comes to purchasing online and often uncomfortable about giving out personal credit card information to many websites, Google Checkout offers another payment method where they avoid all of this and simply complete the transaction using a pre-selected payment that keeps personal financial information private.

With strong growth anticipated by the photo canvas retailer in 2011 they decided that a full range of payment platforms was needed to provide choice to consumers. Research predicts that alternative-payment vehicles platforms such as Google and Paypal will double their transactional volumes by 2015 as consumers use of credit and debit cards directly onto websites slows. *

Managing Director Ben Allan states " Following customer surveys we found that there was the appetite for Google Checkout and after extensive infrastructure testing and configuration we have upgraded the payment platform at the checkout. Previously we have offered payment via Paypal or by credit/debit card but with the addition of the Google Checkout platform there is now another fast, streamlined payment option from a brand trusted by consumers."
