Online Backup Software Company Announces Maintenance Release, New Features and Enhancements

October 13, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Remote Backup Systems, Inc. (RBS), developer and distributor of RBackup™ online backup software on the web at http://remote-backup.com, today announced a general maintenance release to its industry-leading remote data backup software.

Version 8.53 is available for immediate download to all licensees with current support and maintenance contracts.

Improving upon the stable and widely used product, the new release includes override options for removing the windows service prompt upon installation and for more narrowly targeting the locations of specific files chosen for backup. A more robust option for toggling the archive flag in selected folders is added to the client interface, the session quota intelligence is improved, and key updates were made to exception handling criteria. In addition to these enhancements, there are new views and options for byte count status, backup logs, and scheduling controls.

Customizable labels for the Registration Wizard user information panel are now enabled, as well as other enhancements to this PlugIn. Automatic correction of idle timeout parameters for certain firewalls and routers have been enhanced, and should make transfer of large files using certain types of equipment much more smooth.

“As our worldwide client base continues to grow, these features and enhancements will help to ensure a greater degree of scalability and customization for specific types of client distributions,” commented Tommy Gardner, Director of Sales and Marketing for Remote Backup Systems.
