The hugely popular UK arena tour of Strictly Come Dancing has returned for its fourth consecutive year – it opened at the Nottingham Trent FM Arena on January 14 and will end on February 13 in Glasgow.

Craig Revel Horwood, famous for his role as one of the judges in the corresponding BBC TV show, is directing this year's event, and the revues are proving he is injecting a fresh sparkle to make this the best tour ever.

A Sunday Express reporter commented last week: "Over the past couple of years, the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour has taken a nosedive but I am happy to say that has all changed. Thanks to Craig Revel Horwood being let loose as director… The show is now dazzling, colourful, noisy and tuneful and full of big-hearted dancing. The arena setting is the same, only better."

Apart from being responsible for the look and feel of the tour as well as taking his famous role as judge along with Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood has caused a stir by being partnered in a dance routine with Ann Widdecombe, the 63-year-old former politician whom he notoriously slated in the last series of the BBC talent show.

Mr Revel Horwood responded kindly to his tour partner, saying, 'Ann is a good sport, I can't wait to get my hands on her, and create a fabulous routine which people will talk about for many years to come.'

Ms Widdecombe, the self-confessed 'dancing elephant', admitted it was right for viewers to vote her off at the time and vowed that she would 'never dance again'. She has now said she is "very much looking forward" to the experience.

The previous three Strictly Come Dancing Live Tours sold over 1 million tickets, proving their popularity with the UK public. This year's ultra glamorous show will visit some of the UK's biggest entertainment venues, including four exclusive shows at the The O2 Dublin plus at The Odyssey in Belfast, which makes it the first time it appears in the Republic of Ireland.

The celebrities and professional dancers will compete live for the rating of the judges and as with previous tours, the audience will have the chance to add their own votes to the judges scores to decide who wins the coveted glitter ball trophy at the end of each show.
