The face of the Internet is changing as the media content, development, and distribution are evolving. With the majority of web-enabled US homes now having broadband connectivity, consumers are developing new habits, and demanding choice, convenience, and control over their media. This has created a shift in how advertisers and marketers now approach the internet. Some of those new marketplaces for fresh content are blogs, podcasts, and other user-generated content. The blogging world especially is seeing a boom as both personal and corporate bloggers are experiencing heightened viewing of their sites. Consumers have been demonstrably spending more time on blog and podcast sites. The questions left to traditional media companies now are how to enter such a rapidly growing and changing market effectively.
