Leading specialist golf insurance provider, Golf Care, has predicted that more golfers will be looking to cover costs and losses when playing golf as 2011 continues in light of high profile golf accidents in 2010.

There are many costs and potential risks associated with the game of golf. Despite it being a fairly sedate sport when compared with others there are still accidents that can happen as well as loss and theft that could leave the average golfer with a hefty bill to pay.

Golf Care, the UK's leading Golf insurance provider has cited a case in November 2010 where two friends in New York ended up in court as one had struck the other with golf ball during a round of golf. The friend who was struck lost the sight in one of his eyes and so took his friend to court because he had failed to yell the customary "Fore!" when his shot went astray.

This is just one of the reasons that John Woosey at Golf Care has mentioned when urging golfers to cover themselves whilst playing golf, "Accidents can and often do happen on the golf course, a strong wind can send an otherwise well placed shot off course and cause damage to other golfers or someone's personal property such as a car windscreen.

"Golf Care has helped to insure golfers against situations such as these as well as many other risks our golfers have listed as key concerns for them when out on the course. With a comprehensive golf insurance policy players can focus on their own game and performance and forget about the associated risks when playing golf".

As well as covering accidents and damages a golf insurance policy also includes golf club insurance, something more advanced golfers will surely welcome. "Golf equipment, especially at the higher levels, can be very expensive and the last thing a golfer will want to do is replace any clubs that are stolen or damaged." John Woosey added, "This is why our policies also include golf equipment cover to protect every golfer's investment".

Golf Care has seen many more golfers take out an insurance policy for their golf activities and in an attempt to entice even more golfers to protect themselves (and others) for a limited time Golf Care is offering 25% off any policy and offering 3 free rounds of golf including their Platinum level coverage that includes worldwide coverage if golfers play abroad. Golf Care also provide golf travel insurance for golfers wishing to play on holiday.
