Advertising on the Sky? Can it be real? Now it can.

Since selling out real sky for advertisements might be an unrealistic proposition, "Pixels in the SKY" have launched their new project.

"If real sky can not be used, we decided to create our own." - author of the project explains.

On their website ( www.pixelsinthesky.com ) , above a green hill with a realistic tree and a hit counter embedded into it, they have created their own virtual sky.

"We are offering companies to place their advertisements on our virtual sky." he continues "As you can see we have slice our sky, measuring 1000 pixels wide and 800 pixels high, into little cubes, 10x10 pixels each. We believe each of them, containing 100 pixels, is perfect for little advertisements. If a company want to place a bigger ads, it can use as much of this cubes as they would like."

Though many predict the end of days -and the real sky- in 2012 , "Pixels in the SKY" guarantees that advertisements on their sky will exist for at least 10 years from now, until 2015. While potentially they hope to keep this project up forever.

What they offer is not only placing an advertising image on the sky, where it would be seen by many, but also making it clickable and showing a text, whenever the user hovers his cursor over the ad.
