EAGAN AND MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA - Minneapolis orthodontist Dr. Jennifer Eisnehuth recently released her tips for selecting an orthodontist, in hope of educating families about how to choose the best professional for orthodontic treatment.

"Your orthodontist is a person you will spend a year or more with, so research providers beforehand to make sure you find someone you like an are comfortable with,"says Eisenhuth, an Eagan and Minneapolis orthodontics provider.

1. Ask questions.
Potential patients have the right to "interview" their potential orthodontist, Eisenhuth says. Ask about payment options, treatment types and if the orthodontist is accredited.

During orthodontic treatment, patients spend a lots of time with their orthodontist. It's important that patients have a good rapport with their orthodontist- particularly young patients. Liking their orthodontist and looking forward to appointments is a good indicator of compliance throughout treatment, says the Minneapolis braces specialist.

2. Consider who should provide the treatment.
Orthodontics is a complex science and it is important to visit with an orthodontist to determine the best treatment method. Visit the American Association of Orthodontics website to find an orthodontist close to you, says Eisenhuth, a Minneapolis Invisalign provider.

3. Know your options.
There are many orthodontic options. Minneapolis orthodontists can review these options and make recommendations based on the needs of individual patients.
