The first Jersey Food Festival is a celebration of the famous Jersey potato, and of the dairy produce and seafood for which the island is famed.

The festival is the first of its kind on the island but will be followed by many more held at the same time each year.

Local producers of vegetables and dairy produce use the festival as a showcase for their produce, and restaurant also use it to promote their services.

This is the ideal time for the Food Festival because it is harvest time for the renowned Jersey Royals potatoes and all the fields are in bloom. The Jersey Royal is the iconic potato on Jersey and has practically become synonymous with the island.

'Local dishes based on local seasonal produce' is the theme of the festival, and there are many activities to take part in throughout the week.
