Advises Holiday Makers to Watch Out for the Easter Rush

April 11, 2011 April will see four bank holidays in only 11 days as a result of Easter and the Royal Wedding. Due to this,, the independent car hire comparator encourages holiday makers to book early to avoid the impact of the price increase.

There has been an increasing number of people using the extra holiday to plan an extended break, and as a result the company has noticed a gradual price increase over the last 12 weeks in popular Easter destinations including Geneva, Malaga and Alicante,

Faro Airport is one example, where the cost of a week's economy car rental with some suppliers has risen by over 90% in the past three weeks. Another example is Geneva where prices have increased by up to 60% in a seven day rental.

Gareth Robinson, Managing Director of, says: "As the Royal Wedding draws nearer, increasing numbers of people are noticing that taking just three days off work can land them an 11 day break. As a result, there has been an increase in demand for rental cars both abroad and in the UK, which in turn has led to a price hike.

"We recommend that you don't leave booking a hire car until the last minute. Not only will the availability be limited, but you could end up paying significantly more than necessary."
