DirectRooms.com reveals that Aberdeen will be hosting a festival of multicultural activities that will give attendees the chance to experience the foods and customs of countries worldwide.

Aberdeen International Fun Day will be a showcase of food, music and dance that aims to create a greater understanding of the cultures of communities in Aberdeen. As the name would suggest the emphasis is very much centered on fun and attendees can see this in the many displays and performances that will run throughout the event.

The shows are set to feature all sorts of styles of dance from Russian, modern Indian, Bhangra and traditional Scottish. Visitors can also see performances of African drum music, Swedish exercise classes and Tai Chi and there'll be the opportunity to take part in many of the activities.

For food lovers the event also offers a multitude of signature dishes from different countries and visitors can choose from more than 50 stalls which will be offering fleshly prepared meals. In addition to the food, people can see stands selling clothing and accessories and in the evening a fashion show will highlight the traditional garments worn by residents internationally.

Visitors from outside the city looking to attend should book their Aberdeen Airport hotels for 29th May 2011 where the event will be held at Duthie Park from 12:00 to 17:00.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: "The show is due to attract many extra visitors and this may result in shortages in hotels so to be safe attendees should look to book early."
