This theatre production explores the ancient Japanese Rashomon principle: that truth is relative, subject to different points of view.

In Rashomon, a serious crime is committed in the ancient Japanese city of Kyoto, near the Rashomon Gate. Events surrounding the crime are re-enacted to the court via flashbacks by four individuals - each one having his or her own motive to conceal the truth. Is someone lying? Or is the truth obscured by the power of unconscious desires or the fragility of human memory? Rashomon is a story about the intricacies of the human
heart: greed, destruction, lust, deceit, and also courage, integrity and hopefulness.
