LateRooms.com - Enjoy the Long Night of Music in Munich

A chance to enjoy live music in more than 100 locations during a single night awaits people heading to Munich in late May.

The German city's Long Night of Music is a hugely popular annual event that offers everything from flamenco and hip-hop to rock, pop, blues and gospel.

This year's extravaganza is due to occur on Saturday May 28th and will see the city come alive with hundreds of musicians and revellers.

For just €15 (£13.20), visitors are given a wristband that permits them to attend dozens of music venues across the Bavarian capital.

Approximately 400 concerts are expected to take place during the Long Night of Music, with a shuttle bus service on hand to transport people between the various participating venues.

Each club and concert hall is served by one of four bus routes, while all journeys begin at the city's central Odeonsplatz.

Organised visitors can use the schedule to plan their evening, while others are likely to prefer a more spontaneous approach that involves simply drifting around Munich and enjoying each performance they encounter.

The festivities are due to begin at 20:00 local time and will go on until about 03:00 in the morning, although some places may stay open even later.

Venues taking part in this year's Long Night of Music include Alfonso's, Aurora Bar, Bavaria Music Studios, the Deutsches Theater, El Mirador, Lisbon Bar and Savior Weinschmecker.

LateRooms.com recommends a large number of Munich hotels that should appeal to fans of live music, including the Hotel Leonardo Munich.
