Sailing enthusiasts will be heading to the Gold Coast en masse next month for the 2011 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS).

This year marks the 23rd anniversary of the event, which has become one of Australia's most important marine meet-ups over the past two decades.

Exhibitors flock to the show from as far afield as China, India, the UK and UAE.

Many choose Sanctuary Cove to show off their latest creations, with more than 100 products launched every year. Displays typically feature everything from super-yachts and luxury cruisers to engines, electronics and equipment.

More than 400 companies have been confirmed for the expo, including the likes of 3M, E Marine Australia and Maritime Safety Queensland.

The SCIBS is set to run from May 19th to 22nd at the Sanctuary Cove Marine Village, located in the heart of Australia's leading leisure boat building region. Doors are scheduled to open at 09:00 local time every day.

Admission costs AU$22 for adults and AU$19 for concessions. Alternatively, two and three-day passes can be purchased for AU$40 and AU$75 respectively.
