DirectRooms.com reveals that anybody with a love for great food should make a point of visiting Cardiff in July as the city lays on a spread of drinks and food from around the world.

Over three days between 8th and 10th July 2011, Cardiff International Food and Drink Festival will be offering up a selection of the finest imported goods combined with the best in local foods. Visitors will be able to sample and purchase foods such as locally made Welsh cheese, wines from Europe and the freshest organic produce.

Local bakers and chefs will be recreating famous traditional recipes for tasting at the event and attendees will also be able to try the international flavours from places such as Germany, Italy and France. The festival incorporates two markets to enable people to take food home and try the recipes from the live cooking demonstrations that will occur on each day. Alternatively a food piazza will feature eateries offering a wide selection of meals and diners can sit down to hear live music to go along with their food.

Visitors looking to stay overnight for the festival should search for a Cardiff hotel near Cardiff Bay and the Roald Dahl Plass where all the stalls will be set up. General admission is free although there will be a charge for some activities.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: "The festival is immensely popular as it caters for all tastes so anyone planning on attending should book their hotel early."
